One of the best ways to find out more about a destination is to subscribe to local newsletters.

At the FIAF Bastille Day celebration in New York City I had an opportunity to meet Doni Blau, the creator of Girls’ Guide to Paris. After sharing stories of living in the City of Lights I was immediately compelled to sign up to their newsletter (and enter a chance to win a trip to Paris on Air France).

The charming newsletter keeps me on top of events and new stores in my favorite city. Today’s newsletter features the new Napapijri store that just opened the left bank. I became a fan of this brand while on a trend forecasting trip to Italy with my boyfriend. Although Napapijri is very well known in Europe, the brand not as popular in the US. The SoHo store closed after just a few years in December 2009. I’m sure the Paris location will be much more successful.
