It’s already been 7 months since we moved to San Diego (and almost 2 years since baby Kai was born), so it’s about time I updated this blog with my top 3 local shopping spots. All happen to be located in Carlsbad, just a few minutes away from Legoland fun.

A sprawling, family-friendly city with a low-key attitude, San Diego is all about outdoor hiking, surfing and skating. Shopping not so much. And, that means more deals to be found for all you jet-setting super shoppers!

1. Carlsbad Premium Outlets

Located in the North County area of San Diego is the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. Unlike a trip to New York’s Woodbury Commons (where there was once upon a time a Chanel outlet), this compact outdoor mall is small enough to visit AND get some beach time in afterwards.

Noteworthy shops: Barneys Warehouse, Polo, Nike, adidas, Vince, Theory, BCBG

2. Herve Leger
With the same parent company as BCBG, Herve Leger deals are in good company at the BCBG outlet in Carlsbad. Head to the back of the store to find a treasure trove of the iconic bandage dresses at deep discounts. Each time I’ve visited the store had additional mark downs on top of the outlet price making the total discount close to 80% off.

Check out these beauties I hope to wear one day… (Between always being covered in baby Kai’s food, never knowing when I’ll need to nurse on the go, and still trying to shed off that extra baby-weight, I’m estimating they won’t be worn for at least 3-6 months, but I’m happy to know they’re available once I am!).

As the discounts come and go, this is definitely a situation where it pays to be friends with the SAs (or me!).

3. Fashionphile
Last but not least on this SD shopping list is online shopping destination Fashionphile.

With locations in Beverly Hills and San Francisco, their corporate headquarters is located in Carlsbad and houses most of their inventory.

While the showroom is not accessible for browsing, the friendly associates will graciously bring you any item you see on the site while you wait under a crystal chandelier, sitting in the Chanel surfboard-accessorized lobby. I’m home.
