I’m back in Hong Kong and you know what that means – extreme shopping! I’ll take on shuttle busses, flight layovers and jet lag on my crusade to get fabulous statement pieces at shockingly fair prices. Come along and find out how you too can shop like – or ever better- than a local.
One of the first things you’ll notice in the shopping districts of Hong Kong, is the plethora of tiny shops packed with a heavenly assortment of Birkins, 2.55′s and Speedy’s stacked practically on top of each other. Known as “stations” these shops carry the impeccably kept, discarded luxury bags of Hong Kong’s “tai tais” aka housewives.
On my most recent trip to Hong Kong I stumbled across the ultimate non-Hermes Birkin bag. I had read about the Hermes photo print trompe l’oeil bags for years, but never saw one that I’d use more than an easy to forget free tote bag.
